The Beauty of Adoption

No child is unwanted --ever. There is someone out there wanting to protect and love each child created by God Himself.
Yes, God lovingly creates every child. Every child deserves the chance to live, to be loved, and to belong. Adoption beautifully transforms lives for both children and parents. Every child is wanted by someone, somewhere. Every child needs a loving mom and dad in a home of their own. While adoption doesn’t erase hardship, it transforms it into hope. Where abortion ends a story, adoption starts to rewrite one into something beautiful and victorious.
Carl Christiansen was adopted as an infant in Iowa. He grew up to create a wonderful ministry called Beauty Amidst the Ashes, which helps children needing loving homes and helps parents navigate foster care and adoption. Carl said it well when he shared, “As we better grasp our adoption story in Christ, we will better participate in the adoption stories of children.”
Pray about adopting or fostering. Pray about ways you can make a difference to help children. Donate to those who help them.
This month's edition of Unite the USA features resources about adoption or how to become foster parents. You will also find resources about how to help in other ways, too. Remember: As Christians, we are all spiritually saved and "adopted" thanks to Jesus Christ. Adoption is beautiful. Christians and churches can do so much to help. Let's all be part of someone's adoption story in some way.
With God's Word as our guide, pray and do whatever God leads you to do. Your sisters in Christ,Dr. Carrie Stoelting and Stacie Stoelting HudzinskiSisters and founders of Unite the USA

Ways to Help

There are over 400,000 children in U.S. foster care. We can all do something to help. Here are a few ideas:1. Pray about being foster parents and to possibly adopt. There are so many children who need loving and safe homes and perhaps you could consider opening your home to one of them.
2. Engage your church. Encourage your church family to consider foster care and/or adoption. Click here to discover resources to help your church learn more through Beauty Amidst the Ashes. And click here to view various resources churches can get involved in adoption via a ministry by Focus on the Family.3. First Night Bags through Beauty Amidst the Ashes offer a meaningful and dignified alternative to the basic trash bag often given to children entering foster care. Each bag is thoughtfully filled with essential and comfort items meant to bring a sense of peace and security during a time of transition. Click here to donate to this wonderful ministry. In addition, Focus on the Family provides duffle bags, teddy bears and Bibles (youth & teen) through their Suitcase Bundle Program through the Wait Not More ministry. The Wait No More team has collaborated with Beauty Amidst The Ashes to provide these items at no cost. Learn more about the Wait No More Suitcase Bundle Program.4. Adoption Cost Assistance: One of the main barriers standing between waiting children and families is the cost associated with adoption. There are many resources offering grants to help. For example, Show Hope is an organization that has grants available. These grants help break down that cost and have been a part of helping thousands of children come home to the love, security, and permanency of a family. Beauty Amidst the Ashes also has grants available. There are so many resources available if one just looks.
5. What if children in Iowa foster care had brand new bikes to call their own?
What if you could be a part of making it happen? Through 100 Bikes For 100 Kids you can be a part of giving new bikes to children in Iowa Foster Care. 6. Hope Conference. Adoption is a faith journey for many couples that are seeking God’s plan for building their families. The HOPE Conference is making a difference in the lives of these families. Through this Gospel-Centered conference, we are engaging individuals and families in adoption and caring for children in need of families by offering education, support and encouragement. At this conference families are connecting with others as they walk their journey of faith. Click here to learn more and to register.

How to Know Jesus

Charlie Kirk's Most Powerful Defense for Preborn Children

We thank Charlie Kirk for boldly defending all life and for speaking out for adoption. All babies deserve to live. Abortion is not the answer. In the USA, there are millions of people who are wanting to adopt.
No child is unwanted --ever. There is someone out there wanting to protect and love each child created by God Himself. The adoption process certainly needs to be reformed but it exists, it can be navigated, and children can ultimately thrive. We all need to help and do something.

As a boy, Carl developed an urgency to share the gospel message with those around him. Adopted as an infant, he grew up knowing that God had placed a calling upon is life. Carl is known for speaking about the powerful connection between his own adoption, our spiritual adoption and how the church is called to care for children in need of families. Carl uses his story to point others to the hope of the Gospel.

Question: How do Stacie and Carrie know they'll go to Heaven?
Answer: It's not because of what they've done or who they are. It's because Jesus lives in them. Anything good in them is because of Jesus in them. They know God and His love in a personal way. They've followed what God said in His book: the Bible. They invited Jesus to be their Savior and Lord. You, too, can know God. Yes, He really does love you!
Take His Word for it:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. -John 3:16 (NKJV)For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard.-Rom. 3:23 (NLV)For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us... -Rom. 3:25 (NLV)That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. -Rom. 10:9 (NKJV) Understand that God loves you with infinite love! God is good, holy and righteous and we fall short of His perfection. So we need a Mediator, Jesus, who lovingly took our punishment for all our mistakes.
Believe that Jesus is God's Son that took your punishment. He took your punishment for all your sins (anti-God ways) and that He rose from the dead for you, __________.
Repent (turn away from) your sins (anti-God ways) and submit yourself to Him as your Lord.
Receive Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord. Talk to God and give your life to Jesus.
Pray from your heart. If it helps, pray something like this:
God, I understand now...You sent Jesus to share Your love and make it possible for me to be Yours. Please forgive me for all my sins. Jesus, I believe you took my punishment on the cross and that you rose from the dead for me personally. I turn away from doing things "my way" and ask that You rule my life, Jesus. I receive You as my Savior and Lord. I put my trust in You not in the things I do. I love You.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
