Heads up: Independence Day is only a few days away. Yes, July 4th is almost here! For many the 4th of July means barbecues, picnics, flags, parades, and fireworks. While all of that is fun and enjoyable, it is important to remember the deep meaning of July 4th: independence and freedom. Men and women have fought and died to protect our freedom and independence. The ones who fought for our freedom and came home still live with battle wounds and scars of all kinds -including the invisible wounds of post-traumatic stress. In fact, on Independence Day, many experience challenges by fireworks triggering post-traumatic stress.
This is a heart-stirring reality: the ones who fought for our freedom to celebrate often suffer on the day which celebrates hard-fought freedom! So let’s make this Independence Day a little better for our heroes by reaching out to them. Let’s remind them that we appreciate them and have not forgotten them.
Some heroes may look strong on the outside yet on the inside may be on the edge of despair this year. That's why it’s urgently important for us all to do our part to reach out and encourage veterans' hearts, share God's love, and honor them for their service. After all, without them, we would have no Independence Day to celebrate. With that said, we are passionate about reaching out during this year's E-mail a Hero Outreach! What is this year’s E-mail a Hero Outreach? If you have a loved one who is a veteran or who is currently in the military please send us his or her name and e-mail address via the form here or at info@unitetheusa.org. It would be our honor to send a personal message of thanks for defending our freedom. We would be grateful for the opportunity. And take advantage of our various tips to help everybody remember our heroes this 4th of July. Click here to learn more. Remember, the birth of this nation came with the loss of life paid by heroes willing to sacrifice everything so that we may have independence and freedom. Let's remember them in a special way this year! Honor heroes with us this July 4th! Let freedom ring,Carrie Stoelting and Stacie Stoelting Hudzinski

Make July 4th a Star Spangled Banner Spectacular for Our Heroes!
Independence Day is a time when we celebrate the birth of our nation and our freedom. It is also a time when we should remember our heroes who have fought to keep us free. So this Independence Day, Stacie and Carrie Stoelting, the founders of Unite the USA, are embarking on a special project. Let’s make July 4th a star spangled banner spectacular for our veterans and servicemen and women.
1. Our E-mail a Hero Outreach has begun! Let us help you honor the heroes in your life. If you have a loved one who is a veteran or who is currently in the military, send Stacie and Carrie his or her name and e-mail address via the form here. Stacie and Carrie would be honored to send each one a personal message of thanks for defending our freedom.
2. This July 4th, in addition to enjoying fireworks, BBQ, and parades, be sure to set aside time to thank our heroes. Thank them in person, on the phone, in a card, or through an e-mail.
3. On Independence Day, many veterans and servicemen and women march in local parades. Afterwards would be a good time to reach out and thank them.
4. Don't forget our hospitalized heroes or elderly veterans in nursing homes. Send a colorful card, send a gift, or stop by and visit. Note: In God We Still Trust and Unite the USA make great gift ideas! :)
5. Invite a veteran to 4th of July festivities such as a picnic or fireworks show. No veteran should be alone on the day we celebrate our freedom. So reach out to veterans in your area -especially near the 4th!
