Hope and Inspiration to Keep Fighting the Good Fight
Many feel discouraged about how things are going in our country. It’s easy to feel down when the headlines explode with bad news. But now is not the time to give up. Now is the time to boldly pray and keep fighting the good fight! Consider this inspiring excerpt from Stacie's upcoming devotional for our prayer outreach, PrayingPals.org:
Headlines make us treasure the Kingship of Christ even more. Jesus Christ loves perfectly. Our Lord leads perfectly. And King Jesus keeps His promises perfectly. Be encouraged! He will return and make all things right and new! So keep fighting the good fight as you love Him and all neighbors without compromise. He is with you! "Fight the good fight of the faith [in the conflict with evil]; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and [for which] you made the good confession [of faith] in the presence of many witnesses" (I Timothy 6:12).
We must pair our concerns with prayer, cast our cares on the Lord instead, and not allow ourselves to despair. Billy Graham once said, “We must repent of our prayerlessness and make prayer our priority.” For example, pray that people will find hope in Jesus and be saved. Make a "Prayer List" of friends and loved ones who need to know Jesus Christ and pray for them daily.
Choose to focus on all of the good that still exists in our beautiful country. And choose to vote and speak out for what is best for our country. We must protect our homeland on the home front. Now is the time to sincerely pray, vote, and get involved in efforts to protect freedom for all.
Against all odds, many of our nation’s founders were strong Christians who wanted freedom and justice for all. America began in spite of enemies without and within. We can trust the Lord to help us return to Him. The best of America can be traced to the Biblical principles on which she was founded. We need to return to those principles. And we can do that if we all do our prayerful part.
This edition of Unite the USA is filled with hope: There are many sincere Americans working to help our country. In this edition, enjoy learning about two groups reaching out to girls and boys to help them grow to become godly, patriotic men and women. These groups are called American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA.
We all need to pray and remember 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Is There Hope to Turn Things Around?
Q: I’ve been a Christian most of my life and am grateful that my parents had the freedom to raise me in church according to God’s Word. Instead of being conformed to the ways of the world, I have learned about being conformed to the things of Christ, but the nation is rapidly changing, stripping citizens of freedoms that were once our foundation. Is there any hope to turn things around?
A: From the writings of the Rev. Billy GrahamDoom and dismay has settled upon the hearts of people. There’s a specter of hopelessness seen in the headlines and in the deep lines that furrow troubled brows. Humanity searches for fulfillment yet the purposelessness of living is prevalent, robbing millions of the zest for life.
It doesn’t have to be this way. The greatest need in the world is for souls to find rest in Jesus Christ, possessing faith in Him daily no matter the circumstances. This is the ultimate goal—to be conformed to the image of Christ. The Bible says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
Jesus is our example. He will strengthen us in times of difficulty and will be with us when we walk through the trials that come. Jesus walked and talked as a man should. His attitude and approach to life were mature in every sense. He looked with holy eyes upon a sinful world but was not discouraged or depressed by it, but said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). He has given us the key to living with joy and that is to know His salvation and obey Him every step of the way.

Be encouraged about good news happening through a wonderful organization for young Americans: Trail Life USA is a wonderful alternative to the Boy Scouts.
Mark Hancock began his career founding a successful advertising agency. After becoming a Christian, he served as a pastor, homeless ministry director and international ministry event director. He had two sons involved in Boy Scouts of America, but when BSA made a major shift away from its biblical roots, Mark unexpectedly found himself at the center of a movement to start an alternative faith-based program. He is now CEO of Trail Life USA, which addressed key challenges that boys are facing in today’s culture where boys are feeling unguided, ungrounded, unappreciated, and uninspired. In this interview, Mark shares stories of lives transformed by Trail Life USA.

This interview includes more good news about another fantastic organization in America for young people: American Heritage Girls.
Patti Garibay was an active leader and volunteer in the Girls Scouts USA for 12 years until 1993 when Girls Scouts USA moved away from their godly roots and beliefs. This change created a crisis for many Christian families. After multiple attempts to change the organization from within, Patti felt called by God to found the alternative faith-based organization American Heritage Girls in 1995. Patti has a passion to help girls and their families navigate significant cultural issues impacting young women today. In this interview, she shares stories about lives transformed by American Heritage Girls.
