Pray and Take a Stand
created marriage. He has the right to define it -not us. He loves everyone, but He also rightly defines what is right and
wrong. He does this to protect us -not oppress us. He wants marriage to be between one man and one woman. Period.
From our hearts, we pray that marriage will be protected in the USA. Marriage is between one
man and one woman and it can be nothing else. Pray for the Supreme Court to be led by the Supreme Lord of Heaven.
Recently, Rev. Rafael Cruz sounded the alarm:
"Let me tell you, this is not about homosexual marriage. It is about religious freedom. Because
if the court rules that homosexual marriage is a right, mark my words, the next thing is going to be they'll come to a church
and say you must perform a homosexual marriage or we're going to put you in jail. Or you must hire a homosexual pastor or we'll put you in jail. This thing is not about homosexual couples. You know,
civil unions have been legal for a long time."
Alarmingly, we're already seeing many examples of this type of persecution happening in
our country. (Click here to learn more.)
Right now, our country is awaiting the ruling on same-sex
"marriage" by the U.S. Supreme Court. Sometime in June, we will learn the Supreme Court's decision in allowing
same-sex "marriage" in all 50 states.
Sadly, there will be people
who will send us the hate mail to which we've become accustom. We pray for the haters.
But we feel that we must speak out for the good of our country and fellow human beings: Yes, we believe in
God's design of marriage which is between one man and one woman. But this is about more than marriage
and homosexuality alone.
We had the opportunity to meet Rafael Cruz and hear
him speak. Rev. Cruz is the father of Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. He has a powerful message and life story. When he was a
young man, Rafael fought against the Communists in Cuba where he was arrested and tortured. Yes, Rafael Cruz understands
firsthand the dangers of losing freedom.
We hope that you will read this month's featured
article by Linda Holub. And, please join us in praying for our country and that the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court
ruling will protect marriage. No matter what happens, we will continue to trust the Lord and follow what is right according
to His Word.
God remains God. He loves us, and He offers commandments to protect us -not
oppress us. With that in mind, we hope you will join us as we seek to speak His Word, do His Word (only with His help), and
share His Word with love...true, untainted love. God bless you,

|Will SCOTUS tip scales in the culture war again?|
By Linda Holub
In June, we are expected to hear from the Supreme Court of the United States
(SCOTUS) on the constitutionality of natural marriage, marriage between a man and a woman. It might surprise you to read comments
from Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy during oral arguments: "This definition has been with us for millennia. And
it's very difficult for the court to say, 'Oh, well, we know better.'" He later commented: "If we are not going
to wait, it's only fair to say, we are not going to consult social science."
How can they make such a monumental
decision without consulting social science and the potential harm this decision may cause?
To understand marriage,
let's go back to the beginning. In Genesis 2:24, God tells us His plan for marriage. "For this reason a man shall leave
his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Since then natural marriage has been
the basic unit of civil society. God created male and female in a way that is complementary biologically and psychologically
as the only institution for procreation which is necessary for the preservation of a nation. Thus, marriage is not just an
emotional commitment to another but a formula for a mother and father to raise children.
There is ample social research
showing that children do best when in an intact family with a father and a mother. It also indicates fathers and mothers contribute
differently to the development of their children. In addition, it has shown the detrimental effects of single parenthood and
the resulting lack of both a male and female role model in the home. Same-sex marriage by definition precludes children raised
in those families from having the optimal child rearing environment because one sex is missing in the family. If same-sex
marriage is normalized, I can predict greater confusion in teens regarding their sexual identity. How will this affect what
is taught in sex education in schools? How graphic will it get? This could devastate young minds.
The economic impact
could be substantial. As an example, since Scandinavia legalized same-sex relationships they have experienced accelerated
decline in marriages and a marked increase in the number of out-of-wedlock births. (Weekly Standard, Feb. 2, 2004). Europe
is seen as more secular than the United States but even the European Court, the Grand Chamber, determined this past July that
there is no right to same-sex marriage in the European Convention. Only 10 of the 47 countries in the European Union have
legalized same-sex marriage. (Source: Focus on the Family Citizen Magazine, December 2014.) The social consequences are yet
to be considered and could be dramatic.
Many believe opponents to same-sex marriage are hateful and mean-spirited. Not
so. Christians believe God loves all people regardless of their behavior and calls us to do the same. If we don't respect
others, then God will deal with us individually. Justice Antonin Scalia commented on this frequent allegation in Windsor v.
U.S.: "But to defend traditional marriage is not to condemn, demean, or humiliate those who would prefer other arrangements,
any more than to defend the Constitution is to condemn, demean, or humiliate other constitutions. It's one thing for a society
to elect change; it is another for a court to impose change by adjudging those who oppose it hostes generies, enemies of the
Voters in the majority of states confirmed their support for natural marriage but by judicial fiat
most were overturned. It is clear changing the definition of marriage is not what most Americans desire. Is SCOTUS engaging
in social engineering by tipping the scales as they did in 1973 in Roe v. Wade legalizing abortion on demand? I believe SCOTUS
was well ahead of the beliefs of the population at that time. Truth eventually wins; today we see a cultural shift where 48
percent of Americans call themselves pro-life while 45 percent are pro-abortion according to the Gallup organization (Weekly
Standard, July 2013).
How will Christians' First Amendment rights be protected? Will Christians be allowed to give the
biblical view of homosexuality? Or will the United States follow Canada's approach? "The Supreme Court of Canada has
ruled that biblical speech opposing homosexual behavior, including in written form, is essentially a hate crime" (World
Magazine, Feb. 28, 2013). The debate will not be over if they legalize same-sex marriage any more than the abortion issue
was settled in 1973.

of same-sex marriage made their case before the Supreme Court in April, Justice Samuel Alito asked a pointed question: 'Suppose
we rule in your favor in this case and then after that, a group consisting of 2 men and 2 women apply for a marriage license.
Would there be any ground for denying them that license?' Justice Alito seems to understand that ruling in favor of same-sex
marriage would have far reaching implications. Today, join me in praying that Justice Alito will have wisdom and stand strong
for what we know is God's unchanging truth-- Marriage is between one man and one woman."
